Moon Phases

THE WAXING MOON

Waxing Moon

The Waxing Moon is the time of new beginnings. It takes place at the time between the new moon and the full moon. It is during this time of the moon we would work magick for increase, growth, and to promote healing. This is because as the moon is growing in strength so will our spell and its objective.

THE FULL MOON

Full Moon

The Full Moon is a time very sacred to witches because the moons power is at its peak on earth. Any form of magick is possible at this time but magick of a positive nature is most commonly done. This is also a great time for magick involving divination.

THE WANING MOON

Waning Moon

The Waning Moon is the opposite of the waxing moon. It occurs between the time of the full moon and the new. It's a time of decrease. Magick involving the removal of obstacles, health issues, and banishment can be effectively worked at this time.

THE NEW MOON

New Moon

The New Moon is also a sacred time to many witches and is often celebrated with a ritual as is the Full Moon. It is at this time; we work magick of a banishing nature and can use divination to look into the past.

NOTE*

BLUEMOON

*The reason the correspondences vary for the 13th month or "blue moon" is that a blue moon can fall anywhere within the calendar months, thus drawing their correspondences from whatever particular month it happens to fall in.*
